The Barbera d'Asti 'Montebruna' by Braida comes from the vineyard of the same name located in Rocchetta Tanaro, with soils rich in clay and sand that ensure the wine has great aromaticity, intensity, and structure. An additional enhancement occurs during the aging process in large oak barrels for 12 months. The bouquet features intense notes of cherry and small red fruits, with a deep, full, harmonious, elegant, and fragrant taste. A high-quality Barbera d'Asti with a very interesting quality/price ratio.

Braida
Immersed in the picturesque hills of Piedmont, the winery Braida is a true tribute to Italian wine culture, capable of transforming Barbera into a liquid work of art. Thanks to a visionary approach and the visceral passion of its founders, Braida has managed to revolutionize the image of this grape variety, enhancing its ability to produce wines of extraordinary personality and complexity. The beating heart of the winery lies in the DOCG Barbera d’Asti, emblematic of a territory rich in history and tradition.
The journey into the world of Braida begins among the rows of Barbera, where the grapes are cultivated with an almost sacred respect for the land and its ancient traditions. Each bunch is the expression of a unique terroir, and the winery's production philosophy is based on a balance between innovation and the preservation of ancient values. In the cellar, winemaking techniques embrace modernity without ever betraying the essence of the past, giving rise to wines that tell stories of time and place.
Among the labels that proudly bear the name of Braida, the Bricco dell’Uccellone stands out as an oenological masterpiece. This wine, endowed with great character and structure, is a perfect example of how Barbera can evolve and mature, reaching heights of elegance and aromatic complexity. On the palate, the Bricco dell’Uccellone offers an enveloping sensory experience, with fruity and spicy notes dancing harmoniously.
We invite all wine enthusiasts to discover the wonders of the winery Braida on Vino45: a journey that promises to delight every sense and enrich your wine experience with the authenticity and passion of Piedmont.

THE WINE
The Barbera d'Asti 'Montebruna' by Braida originates from the homonymous vineyard located in Rocchetta Tanaro, soils rich in clay and sand that ensure great aromaticity, intensity, and structure to the wine. An additional enhancement occurs during the evolution in large oak barrels for 12 months. Bouquet of intense notes of cherry and small red fruits, deep, full, harmonious, elegant, and fragrant taste. A Barbera d'Asti of great quality and with a very interesting quality/price ratio.
No other winery is identified with a grape variety like Braida is with barbera. The work that Giacomo Bologna has carried out in recent decades is unparalleled and has paved the way for an entire generation of winemakers who, after him, have started to work confidently with this previously undervalued variety. It can be said that it was Giacomo Bologna, with “Bricco dell’Uccellone” and other wines that have made the history of Italian winemaking, who overturned the most common beliefs about barbera. By studying soils and exposures, waiting for complete ripening, and processing it in the best way in the cellar, Giacomo Bologna managed to demonstrate the quality, finesse, and especially the longevity that was possible to achieve by vinifying barbera grapes.
Today, the company represents the faithful image of Giacomo's philosophy, of his way of understanding life, the land, wine, and relationships with friends. His children Raffaella and Giuseppe, both winemakers, constitute the third generation of the “Braida”, and are united by the dream and enthusiasm to continue the noble and quality conquest of Barbera initiated by their father.
With over sixty hectares of vineyards, the company has its rows mainly located in the lands of Rocchetta Tanaro, to which over the years have been added plots in Castelnuovo Calcea, Costiglione d’Asti, Mango d’Alba, and Trezzo Tinella. Grapes cultivated and harvested in highly suitable areas for viticulture are processed in the cellar with the use of the most modern and sophisticated winemaking technologies, always employed in full respect of the oldest traditions.
Thus, for years, the family Braida has been synonymous with Italian drinking around the world, thanks to labels that, in addition to “Bricco dell’Uccellone”, are expressed in names such as “Montebruna”, “La Monella”, “Il Baciale’”, “Bricco della Bigotta” and all the others that follow. Wines born under the sign of the resurgence of barbera, and today a symbol of the highest enological excellence in Piedmont and Italy.
