The Barolo 'Ginestra Casa Maté' by Elio Grasso is a great red wine produced from vineyards approximately 40 years old, coming from the 3 hectares of the Ginestra cru, one of the most representative hills of the entire Monforte d’Alba territory. This area historically produces reds that are more elegant and easier to drink compared to the Barolo from the nearby Serralunga d’Alba. It is aged for about 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels and refined in the bottle for another 8-10 months. It is a splendid example of aromatic finesse and elegance well integrated with the characteristic structure and austerity of Piedmontese wines. Intense sensations of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, dried flowers, mint, and dark spices. It will reach perfect expressive maturity in a few years.
