The 'Cladreris' Rosso from Sirch is produced in the ancient hilltop village of Prepotto, in the Judrio valley, on the border with Slovenia. About 8 hectares of vineyards located within approximately 46 hectares of surrounding centuries-old woods. The term 'Terre di confine' used on the label indicates a particular character of these wines produced across three borders: the DOC, the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, and the country. Cladrecis wines are true crus with a strong territorial imprint. Late harvest to achieve natural ripeness. Aged in barriques. A vigorous yet elegant and refined red. Merlot provides structure and length, while Pignolo adds backbone as well as polyphonic spicy tones. Ideal with white and red meats, cheeses, and mountain cured meats.

THE WINE
The 'Cladreris' Rosso from Sirch originates from the ancient hilltop village of Prepotto, in the Judrio valley, on the border with Slovenia. THE COMPANY
Sirch is a winery that produces wines with great territorial typicity in the beautiful natural setting of the Eastern Hills of Friuli. It is a family-run business that began in the mid-1950s, passing down from generation to generation the love for their land and the passion for viticulture. Over time, it has grown alongside the success of Friulian wines, which, starting in the 1970s, after the creation of the DOC Colli Orientali, have caught the attention of enthusiasts as one of the best national excellences. Today, the winery manages a large estate of about one hundred hectares, divided into various holdings, located in the most suitable areas of the territory, and continues to produce labels in line with ancient traditions, focusing on quality. The area of the Colli Orientali includes the hilly area in the province of Udine towards the Slovenian border. It is a territory historically suited for vine cultivation, thanks to particularly favorable pedoclimatic conditions. The Julian Alps chain protects the vineyards from disturbances coming from the northeast, and the proximity to the Adriatic coast creates a temperate and always breezy climate due to gentle breezes. The soils are of ancient marine origin and consist of flysch or “ponca” in Friulano. Eocene marls formed from the sedimentation of limestone, silt, clays, and sandstones, give rise to stony and friable soils, which are very draining and rich in mineral substances. The wines from Sirch are a faithful reflection of the terroir of the Colli Orientali, a true synthesis of fruit maturity, elegance, freshness, and longevity. The vineyards of the Sirch estate are cultivated in three different areas with particular characteristics. The vineyards in Cividale del Friuli are located near the winery, immersed in a wonderful hilly landscape. The main body of the property is located in Orsaria, in the municipality of Primaticcio. Fifty hectares of terraced vineyards that descend from the hilly area to the banks of the Natisone River. Finally, in the Cladrecis area, near Prepotto, not far from the Slovenian border, there is an estate of 12 hectares of vineyard, surrounded by 46 hectares of woods that ensure a cool climate characterized by significant temperature variations. The grape varieties cultivated by Sirch are the classic ones of the Colli Orientali: the indigenous Ribolla Gialla, Schioppettino, Pignolo, and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, as well as the international ones: Friulano, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Traminer, Pinot Nero, and Merlot.
