THE DISTILLERY
Started in 1846 by Filippo Mazzetti, the family distilling activity has been passed down from father to son to this day through six generations. Every year, the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla receives the best pomace from Monferrato, which gives rise to equally fine single-varietal grappas. Made from the freshest pomace and distilled with steam stills, after a careful and meticulous selection of heads and tails, the grappas are aged for several years in fine oak barrels and in barriques of cherry, chestnut, almond, and French oak; until achieving complete harmony of taste and aroma while preserving the floral and fruity notes. They are the result of a production process passed down with passion and expertise to the current owner, Filippo Mazzetti, along with his wife Laura and their sons Fabrizio and Alessandro.
