Champagne AOC Brut 'Belle Epoque' Millesime' 2012 (Magnum 1.5 L wooden box) Perrier-Jouet

The 2012 is one of the best vintages ever for the Belle Epoque line from Perrier-Jouët, born from a warm summer that balanced an unpredictable and rainy spring. This cuvée is made from a blend of about 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, and 5% Pinot Meunier, sourced from top crus of Champagne, with aging of over 6 years on the lees. The result is a Champagne of extraordinary freshness, with a prodigious balance and a distinct exuberance. On the nose, it releases white flowers, yellow fruits, spices, and marzipan; on the palate, it offers roundness, elegance, and depth, with a fine and velvety texture. The unmistakable floral signature of the Maison is easily recognizable.
Perfectly paired with roast pigeon, caramelized scallops, or 24-month-aged Comté, it is a prestige cuvée that carries on the legacy of the celebrated 2008.

Color: intense golden yellow crossed by amber reflections, a testament to the structure of Pinot Noir.

Perlage: very fine, dense, and persistent, a sign of long maturation on the lees.

Bouquet: wide, deep, and complex. It opens with hints of ripe red fruits, including cherries in spirits and blackberries, followed by notes of candied orange peel, chestnut honey, and spice cake. Then, more evolved nuances of blonde tobacco, toasted hazelnut, and a hint of licorice emerge, all supported by a chalky minerality typical of the Côte des Blancs, where Perrier-Jouët owns part of its vineyards.

Taste: broad, powerful but perfectly balanced. The attack is enveloping and structured, with a very fine tannic texture that recalls the nobility of Pinot Noir. Citrusy freshness accompanies the taste development, while the creaminess of the perlage brings harmony to the progression. Long, salty, and slightly smoky finish, with a persistence of dried fruit and blackcurrant jam aromas.
