It is named after the beautiful Traigh Bhan beach in Islay, nicknamed The Singing Sands. The characteristic sound of the sand underfoot is due to its composition, which consists of a soft, white, and powdery substance, particularly common in this stretch of coast. Fresh notes of green chilies and guava blend with maple bacon and smoked mango, along with anise, burnt heather, and spicy chives. Deep smokiness combined with the flavor of melting caramel and warm, smoky butter. The finish is long, sparkling, and satisfying.

THE DISTILLERY
Officially active since the mid-19th century, specifically from 1815, the distillery Ardbeg, located in the heart of Islay, was founded by John McDougall and has undergone a history filled with numerous ups and downs, similar to many other distilleries, marked by changes of ownership, sudden and lasting closures, and especially characterized by numerous adversities. As early as 1835, there was the first change of ownership, with the distillery being purchased by Glasgow merchant Thomas Buchanan, although John McDougal and his son continued to manage the company, which by the late 1870s, specifically in 1877, was thriving enough to employ almost a third of the island's inhabitants. However, in 1981, the trend was the opposite, and due to the widespread economic crisis, the company could not keep its doors open and was forced to cease all operations. Reacquired in 1987 by Hiram Walker, it would be only two years later, in 1989, that the distillery returned to production, albeit on a much smaller scale, before facing another period of closure from 1991 to 1997. Today, the distillery is owned by the LVMH Group, which has managed to restore much hope and confidence to the lovers of this product. The labels currently on the market are all marked by the same desire for tradition that has driven the distillery to bottle without any cold filtration. Historic stills are still used for distillation, and the choice of water is meticulously cared for. Currently considered one of the most modern and technologically advanced distilleries, today Ardbeg can be confidently defined as a cult brand, made for those who want to rediscover the classic peaty flavor in an Islay single malt whisky.
