Sicilian Lands Perricone IGT 'Capoarso' 2022 (750 ml.) Pellegrino

The Perricone ‘Capoarso’ is a red wine with a rustic and juicy taste, produced by the historic winery Pellegrino, now in its sixth generation. The grapes Perricone in purity come from various vineyards in western Sicily, including a plot of 2.5 hectares in the Tenuta Gazzerotta, on clay and mineral soils at 50 m s.l.m., in a warm and ventilated climate with strong temperature fluctuations. After harvesting in September, fermentation takes place in controlled temperature steel, with long maceration on the skins, followed by aging of at least 5 months between steel and barrique. It presents a bright red color, with aromas of red fruits, violet, rose, spices, and balsamic hints. On the palate, it is structured, savory, and fragrant, with lively and well-integrated tannins. A label that tells the story of territory, tradition, and sustainability.

Pellegrino

Since 1880, Cantine Pellegrino has represented one of the most prestigious wine estates in Sicily, a guardian of a family history that is inextricably linked to the land of Marsala. With over 140 years of tradition, this historic winery has evolved, combining artisan expertise with winemaking innovation to offer elegant, authentic wines that are deeply rooted in the territory.

Today Pellegrino is a reference point for great Marsala aged in wood, the passito wines from the island of Pantelleria, and a complete range of white, red, and rosé wines from native varieties such as Grillo, Zibibbo, Nero d’Avola and Frappato. Each bottle tells the richness of the Sicilian landscape: the scents of the Mediterranean, the strength of the sun, and the sea breeze that caresses the vineyards.

Discover on Vino45 the exclusive selection of Pellegrino wines: a journey through intense aromas, impeccable balances, and flavors that speak the language of the South. Whether it's a Marsala Superiore Riserva to accompany a blue cheese or a Passito di Pantelleria for a sweet end to a meal, Vino45 offers only the best signed Pellegrino. For those who love excellence, tradition, and the authentic character of Sicily in a glass.

Address:

Via del Fante, 39, 91025 Marsala (TP), Italy

Color: Intense ruby red, crossed by slight violet reflections that suggest youth and vitality. The tone is compact, bright, a sign of good concentration and integrity of the fruit.

Bouquet: Rich and seductive, where notes of ripe berries such as blackberry and blackcurrant stand out, accompanied by spicy nuances of black pepper and cloves. Balsamic shades and hints of Mediterranean scrub also emerge, with a slightly toasted background that recalls the brief passage in wood.

Taste: Full and structured, with an enveloping sip supported by well-present tannins that are already polished. The freshness balances the generous alcoholic component, offering a harmonious and persistent progression. The finish is long, with returns of dark fruit and sweet spices, confirming the varietal identity of Perricone in a modern and territorial key.
