Douro DOC 'Tinto Cao' 2018 (750 ml.) Quinta do Pessegueiro

Tinto Cão by Quinta do Pessegueiro is a 100% Tinto Cão produced in the Douro Valley, Portugal. Vineyards approximately 36 years old, 60% of which are grown organically. The grapes are transported in 22 kg wooden crates to the cellar, where they remain cold for 12 hours to complete fermentation. Then the wine is fermented in 225 liter barrels. It is subsequently refined for 12 months. It is full and intense, with hints of red berries, floral notes and light spicy and ethereal notes. In the glass it is fresh and full-bodied, hints of red berries, morello cherries and plums, floral and violet notes and hints of cinnamon and tobacco; ethereal notes on the finish. Elegant and with excellent persistence. Annual production 1,200 bottles.

The phrase "tinto cao" does not have a clear meaning in Italian. It seems to be a misspelling or a combination of words that aren't commonly used together. If you meant "tinto" as in "red" and "cão" as in "dog" in Portuguese, it could refer to a "red dog.
