THE WINE
The Amour de Deutz by Deutz is a great vintage blanc de blancs, made from the best Chardonnay grapes of the house and a long aging process of 9 years on the lees. Champagne with a deep and complex personality, with round and enveloping notes of citrus, butter, dried and toasted fruit. A tense and creamy taste, juicy and mineral, of great elegance and long persistence.

Selection of the best grapes from the house coming from Côte des Blancs and from Avize, Le-Mesnil, and Villers-Marmery.
THE HOUSE
The House Deutz was established in 1838 in Ay, in the Champagne region, founded by Wiliam Deutz and Pierre Geldermann. Coming from Aquisgranum, the two settled in Ay and opened a small wine shop. Firmly determined to produce great wines starting from a particularly suitable vineyard, they purchased a first plot of land in 1838 and began to grow grapes, vinifying them in their cellar. Wiliam Deutz, who had previously worked for Bollinger, contributed his experience in the cultivation and vinification of grapes, while Pierre Geldermann took care of the financial and commercial aspects of the House. In the following years, the House Deutz was forced to sell 63% of the ownership to Louis Roederer due to some failed investments in New Zealand and the United States. Over time, the House Deutz expanded with the acquisition of new crus, both in the surroundings of Ay and in the Côte des Blancs, and annually produces about 600,000 bottles of excellent Champagne. However, the owned vineyards are not enough to provide the necessary amount of grapes, so Deutz turns to local growers with proven expertise who can guarantee impeccable quality of their product. With the advent of Louis Roederer, the winery has been completely renovated and modernized: the musts ferment in steel barrels, each of which is carefully labeled with the plot from which the grapes come. Afterwards, the wines are allowed to rest in the completely underground cellar, which extends up to 60 meters below ground level. The production process of all the champagnes of the House takes place under the control and responsibility of Fabrice Rosset.
