The Nerello Mascalese from Montenero is made from a blend of 60% Nerello Mascalese and 40% Nerello Cappuccio, located in the Grotta Paglia area of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the volcanic terraces of Etna at about 750 m s.l.m. The vineyards rest on volcanic soil composed of volcanic sand and lapilli. Hand-picked in crates during the first decade of October. Aged in steel. Montenero
In the vibrant heart of Salento, where the sun kisses the earth and the sea tells stories of ancient navigators, lies the winery Montenero, a gem of modernity and winemaking passion. Here, among stretches of vineyards that fade into the horizon, Montenero has managed to create a perfect symphony between innovation and tradition, offering wines that reflect the richness and vitality of the Apulian land. The winery stands out for its excellence in production under the IGT Salento denomination, a label that guarantees quality and character.
The philosophy of Montenero is based on a modern and creative approach that enhances the natural predisposition of Salento to produce fruity and enveloping wines. The Negroamaro and Primitivo grapes, cultivated with care and respect for the territory, are the undisputed protagonists of this winemaking adventure. These varieties, typical of the region, are enhanced through innovative techniques that exalt their aromatic richness and softness on the palate.
Among the flagship labels, the Rosso Salento and Rosato stand out, two wines that embody the spirit of Salento. The Rosso Salento is a wine with a strong and enveloping character, with notes of ripe red fruits and a spicy finish that recalls the sun-drenched lands from which it comes. The Rosato, on the other hand, is an ode to freshness and fragrance, with floral hints and a pleasant acidity that make it perfect for accompanying warm summer evenings.
