Tuscany Red IGT 'Montesodi' 2016 (750 ml.) Frescobaldi

Iconic wine of the Tenuta Castello di Nipozzano, the Montesodi di Frescobaldi was born in 1974 and is produced only in the best vintages with 100% Sangiovese from a single vineyard at 400 meters s.l.m., considered the most suitable of the estate. The soils rich in galestro enhance the most important Tuscan variety, highlighting its elegance and longevity. After hand harvesting, the process continues with fermentation in steel, extended maceration, and aging for about 18 months in 30 hl French oak barrels, followed by a bottle rest. The wine is intense and aristocratic, with notes of black cherry, wilted violet, licorice, and sweet spices. On the palate, it is broad, structured, and lively, with silky tannins and a very long persistence. A Sangiovese of rare elegance and emotion, capable of challenging time.

Nestled in the wonderful Tuscan lands, where time seems to have stopped to celebrate the beauty of nature and winemaking art, the winery Frescobaldi tells a story that spans generations. It is one of the oldest wine families in Italy, with roots that dig deep into a past rich in tradition and innovation. With a presence that embraces the most prestigious denominations of Tuscany, such as DOCG Chianti, Brunello, and Bolgheri, Frescobaldi stands out for a modern approach that never forgets to respect the history and the terroir that surrounds it.

The estates of Frescobaldi are a mosaic of winemaking excellence, where each vineyard is nurtured with dedication and love for the land. Here, under the warm Tuscan sun, Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are born, each an expression of a unique territory and unparalleled savoir-faire. The production philosophy of Frescobaldi is a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, where ancient wisdom blends with the most modern winemaking techniques to create wines with distinctive and unmistakable character.
