The Grand Cru Royal Millesimato 2009 by Pommery is born from an exceptional vintage, with an unprecedented agronomic yield, excellent maturity, and an exceptional weight of the grapes. It brings together 40 Crus from the most desirable areas of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. Today, this wine, after the necessary aging time to reveal all its secrets and complexity, is ready to be served on tables around the world. Highly floral, where the aromas of beeswax, almost similar to honey, are elegantly paired with some notes of dried lemon peel. Hints of white flowers combined with citrus notes join the softness of the wine, revealing slightly spicy notes of saffron. A champagne that cannot leave us indifferent.

Today, this wine, after the necessary aging time to unveil all its secrets and complexity, is ready to be served on tables all over the world. THE MAISON
In 1858, Madame Pommery took over the management of Pommery & Greno after her husband's death. She based the expansion of her house on creating wines different from all others, with a constant demand: quality taken to the extreme. Well aware of how important the origin of the grapes was for the quality of her wines, over the years she built a collection of the best vineyards throughout Champagne.
Madame Pommery, wanting to offer English consumers a unique wine, predominantly "dry," decided to invest in a new strategic location that brought together all the optimal production conditions. In July 1868, Madame Pommery initiated what would be the largest construction project of the century in Reims, the transformation of chalk quarries into cellars. French and Belgian miners excavated for 18 kilometers, 30 meters underground, creating interconnected galleries formed by barrel vaults and ribbed vaults. It is a gigantic underground city. Gustave Navlet adorned the squares, formed by ancient wells, with immense bas-relief sculptures that accentuate the surreal beauty of these grand galleries, immersed in a permanent twilight. A magnificent monumental staircase of 116 steps constitutes the only connection between this underground world and the outside.
In terms of taste, she was ahead of her time. She created in 1874 Pommery Nature, the first commercially successful brut champagne, thus breaking with the tradition of very sweet wine. A woman in a male-dominated world, she imprinted her personality on her champagnes. The purity and finesse of Pommery wines perpetuate this legacy.
