Yellow Moscato

The yellow Moscato is a vine of probable ancient Syrian origins (it is in fact also known as Moscato Sirio) and it has come to us imported in all probability from Greece by Venetian merchants. In the Euganean Hills it gives life to "Moscato Fiori d’Arancio", in both sparkling and passita versions, while in Alto Adige it is known as "Goldmuskateller". It belongs to the Moscati family, aromatic vines whose name derives from "muscum", musk, whose characteristic aroma is also found in ripe grapes. Moscato giallo is used both as a table grape and for winemaking, as a sweet sparkling wine or raisin wine, sometimes also in a still and dry version.
