It should be noted that Asti spumante and Moscato d'Asti, although part of the same name Asti and being both white Muscat expressions, are two very different wines: the first is a sparkling wine, the second is not. In fact, the Moscato d'Asti, not being subjected to a real froth, is characterized by a slight sparkling.
