Family-owned company located south of Bolzano, Putzenhof is a pearl set in South Tyrol. The story begins in 1956, when the grandparents of the current company's managers decided to buy an old farmhouse perched on a hilltop and set against the foot of a wall porforica.
The access road to the farm was almost impassable, the house literally fell to pieces, and the vineyards were old and neglected. On the other hand, the location - with breathtaking views stretching from Burggrafenamt until the Lowlands and the surrounding mountains - the climatic conditions and the exposure of the vines were excellent. For this activity it recovers and the lands around the farm begin to revive, including vineyards.
Always wine production was destined to cover their own requirements, while from 2009 started the DOC wine bottling for marketing. The wine grapes only come from estate vineyards, located at an altitude ranging from 350 to 600 meters above sea level.
Wines produced, thanks to the specific terroir, are characterized by a good minerality, an excellent flavor and are very balanced acidity.
