The Kurayoshi Pure Malt is a Japanese Whiskey produced by the Matsui Distillery. Aged in oak barrels for over 3 years, and then finished in sherry barrels. The nose expresses notes of ripe fruit and chocolate. The palate imitates the nose with further notes of citrus and lemongrass. Sweetness and acidity are elegantly balanced. The light finish is a reference to the pure Tottori spring water used during distillation.
Matsui Distillery is located on the coast of Tottori Prefecture - in the area south of the island of Honshu - well known for its sand dunes. The whiskies produced by Matsui are distilled with pure ultra-pure water from the Daisen Mountains.
The production of Matsui is small and artisanal and the available stocks of Kurayoshi Whiskey are very limited. This makes this collection particularly refined and precious.
