The Champagne Blanc de Noirs from Reine Dhuicq is soft and fresh. It originates in the Marne Valley in Verneuil, Olizy, Damery, and Romery on a chalky soil rich in clay and limestone from approximately 30-year-old Pinot Meunier vines. It is vinified for 2/3 in oak barrels and aged in the same barrels for 10 months; the remaining 1/3 is vinified and aged in steel tanks. The blending of the wine is done while maintaining the proportions. Notes of yellow berry fruits, peach, and apple, light floral hints of jasmine, yeast, and bread crust, with a slight spiciness and delicate oxidative notes on the finish. A soft and fresh taste, with a light and pleasant oxidation on the finish that contributes to excellent persistence and balance.
